Conehatta Tribal Housing

Conehatta Community, Newton County, Mississippi

Construction of 16 houses in the Conehatta Community for the Choctaw Housing Authority, with related site infrastructure under a separate contract.

The project consisted of constructing 16 houses in the Conehatta Community of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians in Newton County, Mississippi. The Mills Cove subdivision had 10 houses constructed and 6 houses were built in the Hoye Pace subdivision. All 10 houses in Mills Cove measure 1,004 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The houses in Hoye Pace range from 1,680 to 2,009 square feet, including 3-, 4-, and 5-bedroom configurations.

IKBI provided construction management services for approximately 75% of the construction using local small-business subcontractors, and self-performed approximately 25% including cabinets, trim, paint, wall insulation, shingle roofing, interior doors, appliances, and finish work.

IKBI also had a separate approximately $1M contract for clearing, grubbing, site grading, road construction, and water and sewer systems for the subdivision areas.
