Pearl River Regional Maintenance Facility

IKBI, Inc. constructed the Comprehensive Regional Maintenance Facility for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians in the Pearl River Community of Neshoba County, Mississippi. The 13,960-square-foot facility was developed to consolidate maintenance and vehicle-storage operations and expand support for the Choctaw Transit System, tribal fleet vehicles, and other public and specialized transit providers serving the East Mississippi region.

Construction encompassed both vertical construction and extensive site and infrastructure improvements. The scope included demolition of existing structures; earthwork and preparation of the building pad; rerouting and installation of project utilities; subsurface stormwater drainage; curb and gutter; exterior paving; parking and access drives; erosion-control measures; and final site stabilization and sodding.

Building construction included the concrete pad and structural steel system along with electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC, interior finishes, office areas, and associated building components. Site activities also incorporated temporary silt fencing, erosion checks, wattles, inlet siltation guards, and other measures necessary to manage erosion and stormwater throughout construction.

The completed facility provides dedicated infrastructure for maintaining and supporting tribally owned transit and fleet vehicles as well as other public and specialized transit vehicles operating throughout the region. The project transformed MBCI’s concept for consolidated regional maintenance operations into a purpose-built transportation support facility serving both tribal and broader regional needs.
